back to school shopping

As much as I'm freaking out to send both of my kids out into- what is for us-  uncharted school territory, I have to admit, I do love that "back to school" feeling in the air.

Fall is my favorite season. I love the way the air smells and the general hue of the world outside. I also love the cooler weather and, accordingly, fall clothing.

This year is a little sad because I only really have to buy back-to-school clothes for Oliver- Peyton will be wearing a uniform this year at school so beyond the navy polos and khaki jumpers,  I really don't have to go crazy on Fall clothes for her (though, let's admit it, I probably will...)

For Ollie, here are a few of the Gap & Old Navy purchases that I'm giddy about (you know, beyond the plain jeans and t-shirts):

           1.         2.
           3.        4.

1 || 2 || 3 || 4

Oh, and this little cardigan only goes to 24 month size, but I'm strongly considering buying it and squeezing myself him into it:

And from Boden:

For a jacket, I generally go for Patagonia because they hold up and Peyton can easily wear them a couple of years down the line. I got Ollie a fleece and a puff:

Patagonia Retro Fleece || Nano Puff

And for Peyton (because for some reason I don't have one that will fit her this year...):

I let the kids pick out their own backpacks and this was Ollie's choice, because it's "blue and blue" We have always done LLBean packs and I'm a tiny bit worried about how this one will hold up, but Ollie really loves it so what was I gonna do...

Peyton and I spend hours going through different catalogs and websites but she kept going back to this one. I'm pretty sure she's happy with her decision, as she's been wearing it around the house non-stop since it arrived. (We got the mini because Pey is so tiny, but it just barely fits her lunchbox so if I could do it again I might get the small instead. Of course, like a dummy, I had it monogrammed so I couldn't return it):

And if you twisted my arm and asked me what I would be getting for Pey if she did need some back to school gear, I'd give you these picks:

A CrewCuts dream list:

And from the Gap (I'll take one of these in both our sizes, please):

And sometimes I cannot resist totally weird, makes-no-sense purchases like this one from Zara (For instance, over the summer I was at Target getting one or two things-HA- and I happened upon a little burgundy-colored motorcycle jacket... and now it is hanging in Peyton's closet):

Faux Fur Waistcoat

If I had time, I'd give you my Back to School wardrobe wishlist, but alas, I have to go order all of that stuff for Peyton deal with my laundry situation. I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful feeling of the beginning of Fall as much as I am!
