weekend

We had such a nice, relaxing weekend. On Saturday, the boys braved the yucky cold, rainy weather to go cheer on the Huskies. As you can see from the picture, there weren't too many people willing to do so! (Even though they had fun, I can guarantee Ollie was much happier watching football from his cozy nest on the couch on Sunday!)

Since they were going to be out for the day, I asked Peyton what she would like to do with me, basically offering up everything from the museum to an indoor playground and everything in between.
But her grand wish?: "I want to have a hair-cuck."
So a hair-cuck we did get. I don't have a great picture yet, but she got about 3 inches cut off and looks adorable. After that, we made a quick stop at the store where she picked up some jungle animals, followed by a lovely ladies lunch at Panera (Peyton's choice).

As for Sunday, we spent the entire day in our pajamas! Jon finished up the chicken coop and started the headboard project, and I touched up the paint in our bedroom and packed away all of the Halloween decorations. As much as I love decorating for Halloween, I kinda love un-decorating too. Putting all of that orange and black away for another year feels like a bit of a sigh of relief!

All that's left to do is a fresh coat of paint!
And Ollie and Peyton? They played cars/skateboards/trains and dinosaurs/farm/dress-up, respectively, while every Buddies movie ever made played in the background (Air Buddies, Snow Buddies, Treasure Buddies, etc...) And it was one of those rare days where they enjoyed each other's company and had some good old fashioned sibling fun. We talked about going for a hike and it never happened. And that was okay with us- It was just such a perfect blustery day for enjoying our little home!

I know a lot of people hate the cold, but I don't mind it so much. I love that kind of hibernation feel of winter. And don't get me wrong- we have lots of plans for the rest of this fall and winter (I just started our Winter Family Fun List!)... but a day inside in our jammies is pretty wonderful once in a while.

Anyway, whether you braved the rain, wind and cold this weekend or were just plain lazy like us, I hope it was a good one!

Don't forget to vote tomorrow :)
