Hello Friends! It's been a rough couple of weeks so I haven't been able to sit down and write. I'm hoping to get a few "update" posts out, but for today:
Dylan Roo is 3 months old. I had a bit of a cry over the fact that she is officially no longer considered a "newborn" But then I just looked at her smiling and pivoting around on her blanket and I realized, oh yeah, now the fun stuff starts.
Dylan's milestones for Month 3:
Rolled over from tummy to back at 9 weeks (and has since been rolling her way out of tummy time every chance she gets) \\ Laughs (but no belly laugh yet) \\ First trip to NYC \\ First stay in a hotel (picture below) \\ Started Coo-ing and Ahh-ing \\ Diagnosed with a VSD at 9 weeks (stay tuned for an upcoming post) \\ Takes little catnaps all morning and a solid nap starting around 2 or 3pm \\ Celebrated her first Cinco de Mayo (pictures below) \\ Happiest baby I've ever known!
Our pediatrician doesn't do a 3 month physical, but because of her VSD we have to go for frequent weight-checks. At last week's, Dylan weighed in at 9 pounds 15.5 oz. (5th%) Because her gain is very slow and she's falling off of her curve, the nurse suggested that I add a couple of formula feedings into the mix. I had no problem with that, as I'd love to see her chunk up a bit, but she has so far been very resistant and actually screams when I try to give her the bottle. My mother-in-law told me she heard if you shake a box of cereal while trying the bottle the baby will take it... sounds ridiculous, but I'm willing to try anything. I'll let you guys know. (Also, I wonder if there's anything you can shake to make yourself not eat, cuz, you know, bathing suit season...)
