an afternoon in hartford

In the nearly 10 years that we've lived in Connecticut, we've said, "Hey, lets go spend the day in Hartford!" a grand total of ZERO times. But while listening to NPR yesterday, I heard that there was a food truck festival going on. And then later, the principal at Peyton's school reminded us that this was Second Saturday, a family-friendly event held once a month at the Wadsworth Atheneum.

To be completely honest though, they had me at food truck.

Today was sunny and warm and gorgeous, and just one of those spring days where everything is so green and the sky was raining flower petals and sitting in the park eating food truck food and watching street performers just felt like perfection.

So I suppose we may have found a new place to explore with the kids, which is such a cool thing when you've lived somewhere for so long!

Wishing you all new places to discover too!
Happy Weekend, &
 Happy Mother's Day!
