We had such a fun-filled long weekend in Vermont! The weather held off and the foliage was beautiful. We did so much that it's hard for me to believe we fit it into 3 days, but somehow we did!
We spent Saturday in southern Vermont with family. Ollie was all about soccer, all weekend. These pictures are from when I took him to a field, but his favorite was playing in the yard with his "big cousins" (who are actually Jon's cousins).
We had breakfast at Crow's Corner, as we do every day that we are there- They have "best eggs ever had," according to Ollie... and it's just our favorite place, besides that.
Maple leaf cookies. Not sure what's with the expressions, but this one makes me laugh.
Someone gave the kids wax lips and they thought they were the funniest things ever.
BILLINGS FARM in Woodstock, VT
Every Columbus Day Weekend, Billings has a little festival- apple bobbing, traditional games, etc. Who would have thought that an apple peeler would be so exciting??? Peyton thought it was the coolest thing ever, and she loved eating the apple that she peeled and sliced afterward. Also, you can see that Ollie and Peyton are now official Pumpkin Bowling Champions, with the ribbons to prove it.
VERMONT INSTITUTE OF NATURAL SCIENCE in Quechee
VINS is mostly a bird rescue sanctuary, but they have some fun exhibits and beautiful hiking trails. We knew Peyton (our little scientist) would be all over this place, but actually Ollie surprised us by loving it too! I didn't get a picture of it, but they have this rescued owl who turns his head to follow you everywhere you walk- the kids thought it was hilarious and were howling with laughter every time we walked by his enclosure.

EXPLORING BURLINGTON & VISITING WITH FRIENDS
We have the sweetest friends to visit when were up in northern Vermont. They have two girls who Oliver and Peyton are head-over-heels for. We had a such wonderful time exploring their river and just catching up that when it was time to leave, the kids all started scheming up ways to extend the visit.
Hope you all had a fantastic Columbus Weekend as well!
