bugaloo: photographer

Lately, Ollie has had an obsession with taking pictures. I can't blame him; he obviously gets it from me. Every day, he asks if he can have my phone to "take a pish-kah?" And for some reason, he thinks the click! sound is absolutely the most hilarious thing ever: I often hear him click!ing and giggling all over the house.

Some days, I have to go back and delete 300 or 400 blurry photos of his feet... But recently, as I was going through, I found myself smiling at some of the photos he took when I wasn't paying attention. Most of them aren't in focus or about anything in particular, and yet, they are such an incredible and beautiful illustration of the world through my 5-year-old's eyes: Mommy doing whatever she does in the kitchen, toys in action, cartoon characters, general life around our house...

Sometimes I can't believe I have an (almost) 5 and a half year old. He is growing up so fast that I'm have a hard time keeping up. Sometimes I'll run across a movie and think, oh yeah! he used to watch this on repeat! Or I'll find a toy and remember how we couldn't go anywhere without it. It's (unfortunately) easy to forget each stage as it passes, because the new ones are just as exciting as the last. But in my phone, I found a few reminders of what life is like for Ollie right at this moment, and for that very reason, I couldn't bring myself to delete these.
