weekend

This Christmas Season is shaping up to be the best one yet. Ollie and Peyton are the perfect ages this year: Everything is so magical and exciting for them, which makes it kind of magical and exciting for Jon and me too! They are loving every bit of the "Christmas Preparations" (If you have kids around their age, we've been watching Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas on Netflix. It's a really cute movie: The Man with the Yellow Hat tries to show George, who wakes up every morning wondering if it's Christmas yet- just like two little monkeys I know!- how the Christmas preparations are all part of the fun.)

I've been attempting to keep my stress to a minimum so I can enjoy it all with them. I haven't bought any gifts yet! Not ONE. But I'm trying to stay calm and mentally repeat the mantra, it'll all get done, it'll all get done. (And honestly, if it doesn't, people will forgive me. I hope! As long as I get the kids covered and the teachers... I don't think anyone else will mind if I get their gifts to them a week or so late.)

Our weekend "Christmas Preparations" included a Christmas Tree Hunt, the annual Santa's Run, and a Gingerbread House making with some of our friends.

Still the little over-seer. She cracks me up!

~ Glastonbury Santa's Run ~
One pregnant waddler, six kids, bitter wind, and one pretty nasty injury from "running as fast as raindrops fall"... but we crossed that finish line! (Okay, fine, my friend Renee & I might have pulled a Rosie Ruiz due to the medical drama, but we did do most of it!)

Next up this week is the Polar Express train ride and a bit of tree decorating!
(Probably some gift buying, too- I'm not sure how much longer I can maintain this stress-free attitude... it's just not natural for me!)
Happy Monday, Everyone. I hope your "Christmas Preparations" are just as festive as ours!
